Zirconium corundum is made from alumina and zirconium oxide as raw materials and is smelted in an electric arc furnace at a temperature of over 2000°C.
 
According to the content of Zr02, zirconium corundum generally has bottom zirconium corundum (Zr02 10%~15%), middle zirconium corundum (Zr02 25%) and zirconium corundum (zr02 40%)
 
The main crystal phase of zirconium corundum is a-AL203, the secondary crystal phase is baddeleyite, and there is also a small amount of glass phase.
 
Zirconium corundum is tough, dense in structure, high in strength, and has good thermal shock resistance. It is generally gray-brown in color.
 
Purpose: Zirconium corundum has good resistance to melt erosion. As a high-grade abrasive, it can be used to make high-performance heavy-duty grinding wheels. It has a good grinding effect on steel parts, cast iron parts, heat-resistant steel, and various alloy materials; In addition, zirconium corundum is also a high-grade refractory raw material. It is an ideal material for making high-performance sliding nozzles and intrusive nozzles. It can also be used to make zirconium corundum rotors for glass melting furnaces. Abrasive tools made of zirconium corundum have good durability and high polishing finish. Suitable for precision grinding of measuring tools, machine tool spindle instrument parts, threaded workpieces and template grinding etc.
